The owner of a since-shuttered restaurant in Houston called the Turkey Leg Hut has been sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to coordinating an arson attack on Bar 5015, a rival business nearby.
As reported by the Houston Chronicle, 44-year-old Lynn Price, who was best known as the co-founder of The Turkey Leg Hut, was sentenced to nine years in prison on Friday (October 30) on conspiring to commit arson charges.
Before he was sentenced, Price apologized and asked the judge to consider giving him a lighter sentence, as he was facing up to 20 years behind bars following his guilty plea earlier this year.
"I am truly sorry," Price said before he was sentenced, asking the judge to give him a sentence of five years. "I am not asking the court to excuse my conduct or place blame on anyone else. Having done good gave me every reason to know better and to make better decisions."
Federal prosecutors were seeking the maximum possible sentence for him, citing his criminal record, which includes one other arson-related charge.
In June 2020, Lynn Price paid four men to set fire to Bar 5015, a business operated by a former business partner of his that was just 200 yards from the Turkey Leg Hut. The men he hired covered the bar in gasoline and lit it up, which resulted in an explosion.
No one was injured in the fire or the explosion, but it caused approximately $75,000 in damages. Lynn Price wasn’t arrested in connection with the fire until almost five years later, in April 2025.
Investigations found that Price was in an escalating feud with Bar 5015 owner Steve Rogers, who refused to let him be a business partner in the bar and wouldn’t allow himself to be bought out of his ownership stake in the Turkey Leg Hut. The two previously worked together, and Price was found to have sent threatening messages to Rogers, including threats of arson.
