Chloë Bailey on ‘Strung,’ Her Mixtape With Timbaland, Challenging IShowSpeed, and Her Birthday Plans
Chloë Bailey has been taking over the music scene, but landed the lead role in Malcolm D. Lee’s ‘Strung' film. In this film, Chloë portrays Leila, a talented violinist who ends up moving into the home of an affluent family and becomes the tutor of a young girl to teach her the piano.
Leila, by nature, is a goodie two-shoes but ends up having a one-night stand that comes back to haunt her throughout the film.
Chloë sits down with Complex News’ Mami Tiff to talk about the film and how much she says herself in the character Leila. The two also play a fun game, discussing popular TV and film “other women” characters, and Chloë decides if they deserve a second chance at finding love. Chloë also opens up about fighting with co-star Lynn Whitfield in the film, and how reuniting on screen with Coco Jones, who plays Leila’s best friend, Jasmine, felt like how their friendship is in real life.
Chloë also opens up about her latest music drop, ‘Resurrection,’ a mixtape she created with Timbaland, and how this new era has also impacted her hair and makeup, which is inspired by superheroes and anime comics.
Outside of her acting and singing career, Tiff has Chloë reflect on her challenging streamer, IShowSpeed, to a water obstacle course in St. Lucia back during his Carribean Tour. Chloë reveals why she believes she struggled through the course and wants to do a rematch with Speed.
And before wrapping, Chloë opens up about her birthday plans, which she will be spending in St. Lucia to celebrate Carnival.
