Alpo Martinez’s story is returning on the anniversary of his death—this time with a supernatural twist.

MRECK TV and Spooky Hours are launching The Ghost of Wild Bo, a new micro-drama loosely inspired by the notorious Harlem figure’s life and legacy. The series trades a conventional biopic treatment for ghosts, crime, and suspense, with its first episode set to arrive on Halloween night, October 31, 2026. That date marks exactly five years since Martinez was fatally shot in Harlem.

Created and narrated by M RECK himself, The Ghost of Wild Bo also features voice performances from Knotti WTF and DB Raxx. The introductory trailer pulls Martinez’s larger-than-life street reputation into a fictional, cinematic world where the past does not stay buried.

Episodes will roll out through MRECK TV and Spooky Hours on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital platforms. Spooky Hours also operates a standalone app available through Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

Long before the ghost story, Martinez was one of the most infamous names connected to New York’s 1980s drug trade. Born Alberto Geddis Martinez, he began selling drugs as a teenager in East Harlem and eventually expanded his operation to Washington, D.C.

His run ended with a 1991 arrest on federal drug and murder-related charges. Facing the possibility of life in prison or the death penalty, Martinez became a government informant and testified against former associates, including D.C. enforcer Wayne “Silk” Perry.

He was sentenced to 35 years and released in 2015.

Martinez’s name never disappeared from popular culture. His life helped shape Rico, the ruthless character Cam’ron played in the 2002 crime drama Paid in Full.

The film drew from the real-life stories of Martinez, Azie Faison, and Rich Porter, turning a chapter of Harlem history into a cult favorite.

Martinez has also been referenced by generations of rappers, including Nas, JAY-Z, 50 Cent, Drake, Meek Mill, Pusha T, and Benny the Butcher.

The Halloween connection is built into the premise. Martinez, 55, was shot five times while seated in a Dodge Ram near West 147th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 31, 2021.

Police initially identified him as Abraham Rodriguez, a name associated with his post-prison life in federal witness protection. Shakeem Parker was later charged with Martinez’s killing but was acquitted in July 2024.

The microseries trailer distills its approach into one line: “Some legends never die. They just come back differently.”
