Fanatics Sportsbook has launched a new animated series narrated by Saturday Night Live star Kam Patterson.

The series, starting on Fanatics Sportsbook's social channels on Friday (June 26, features sketch-style animation depicting real customer wagers as comedic shorts. Each episode is inspired by real bettors on the platform, credited by name — the first installment, for instance, is Sketchy Bets With Kam Patterson Based on a Bet by Joey P.

Patterson, who joined SNL as a featured player in the show's 51st season, narrates every episode of the five-episode series.

"Sports betting gives you stories you can't make up," Patterson said. "The crazy hits, the brutal bad beats, and the bets that had absolutely no business cashing but somehow did. That’s what makes Sketchy Bets so fun."

He continued: "We’re taking real bets from Fanatics Sportsbook customers and building wildly entertaining stories around them. The bets are real, the characters and scenarios are not, but if you’ve ever sweated out a parlay, there’s a good chance some of these moments will feel pretty familiar."

Episode 1, which can be seen below, follows Joey P. from Jersey as he takes out a bet on a USA vs. Uruguay match, placing $200 on a USA win with over five and a half goals.

The new project from Patterson, who got his start on the podcast series Kill Tony, fits a pattern of outside-the-box projects among recent SNL talent. Fellow cast member Marcello Hernandez is set to host the ESPYs for ESPN, and Kenan Thompson recently published a children's book.

All five episodes of Sketchy Bets will be aired on Fanatics Sportsbook's social feeds, with Episode 1 streaming now on YouTube.
