Baby Tate claims that she owes Warner Music Group $1.5 million.

The rapper recently posted an Instagram post revealing that her boyfriend had his car stolen. In the post, she asked her followers to either share his GoFundMe campaign or donate if they can. As of this writing, the GoFundMe has raised $1,000 out of its $10,000 goal.

Tate’s post caught major backlash from her followers who were shocked that she’d ask for their support when she’s a signed rapper, which they equated to having boatloads of cash.

After a fan came to her defense and suggested that her haters stop watching her pockets, Tate hopped in to explain her situation. “Lol like I literally owe Warner 1.5 million dollars but God forbid I try and help my boyfriend replace his car through community donations instead of just buying him a brand new one off the lot!” she wrote.

Tate also shared a longer message on her Instagram Story expressing her disappointment with people criticizing her.

“All I actually asked is for y'all to share,” she wrote. “It’s sad that all of some of you wanted to share was negativity! Keywords are clearly lost on the community because of poor reading comprehension skills otherwise the ‘donate if you can’ wouldn’t have ruffled your feathers so much.”

“The entire world is experiencing a recession,” she continued. “The greatest power we have as people is coming together as a community.”

Baby Tate signed to Warner Music Group in 2021. Her latest full-length release was Baby Tate Presents - Sexploration: The Musical in 2023.
