Anderson .Paak and Cordae are vying for collaborative magic on Heavy Is the Crown, out now.
The joint album, led by “A Good Day” and its Friday-homaging video, was first announced to the world back in August with the reveal of official cover art that finds the duo giving fans their best Step Brothers impression.
J. Cole, Conductor Williams, and Swizz Beatz are among the producers tapped to bring this 11-track project to life. Check it out in full here via Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.
Leading into the release was the launch of a three-day pop-up experience at Complex LA, which starting with an exclusive early listen of the album and the debut of new merch on Thursday (Oct. 22). The pop-up, as detailed here, continues with a special signing event featuring .Paak and Cordae in person on Friday (Oct. 23) before closing up shop on Saturday (Oct. 24).
Exclusive merch set to be available at the pop-up (and via Complex Shop) encompasses hoodies, tees, vinyl, CDs, and, in a fitting nod to .Paak’s prowess as a multi-instrumentalist, official Heavy Is the Crown drumsticks made by ProMark.
Prices start at $10 for a standard CD and top out at $80 for a hoodie. The drumsticks, arguably the highlight of the collection, will set you back $20.
