50 Cent believes marriage is a bad deal, but he couldn't stay serious about the topic for too long with Tyrese sitting nearby.
The G-Unit mogul joined Ebro Darden, Tyrese, Tony Yayo, and Uncle Murda for an episode of Apple Music's Rap Life Review tied to the Donell Jones and Joe VERZUZ on Aug. 21. During the conversation, 50 offered his perspective on marriage and why he has avoided walking down the aisle.
"Marriage is a bad contract," 50 said. "It's the only contract you have to renegotiate to get to a good place."
The rapper and television executive, who has never been married, argued that the commitment can require far more than simply putting money on the line.
"Marriage is the biggest investment: your time and your energy," he continued. "And then it goes left, child support will call you..."
50's reluctance to get married is nothing new. He's spoken openly about the subject over the years and previously summed up his decision with another memorable line: "I've made some mistakes, just not that one."
But with Tyrese sitting alongside him, the conversation eventually shifted from marriage advice to classic 50 Cent trolling.
At one point, 50 turned directly toward the singer and loudly recreated one of Tyrese's most infamous viral moments.
"WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" 50 yelled in Tyrese's face.
Rather than taking offense, Tyrese played along.
"We hate when you're upset," he responded.
The moment was a callback to Tyrese's emotional 2017 social media video during his highly publicized custody battle with ex-wife Norma Mitchell. In the clip, the singer broke down while discussing his daughter and his financial situation, repeatedly asking, "What more do you want from me?"
The video became a viral moment, making it natural material for 50, whose relentless trolling has become almost as recognizable as his music career.
Tyrese's appearance also marked another recent connection to Apple Music's Rap Life and VERZUZ. Earlier this year, he faced Tank in a VERZUZ battle held at Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles.
