South London rap legend Blade Brown has spent more than two decades inspiring his audience to get to the money, carving out a legacy through music, entrepreneurship and a firm commitment to self-made success. From the iconic mixtape series, Bags & Boxes, to business ventures such as Don Londrés tequila, he has consistently championed ownership and financial freedom on your own terms.
Today, Blade Brown exclusively reveals to Complex UK that he has joined Mamedica as an investor and partner, backing the UK medical cannabis company as it continues to grow its presence in the country’s regulated medical cannabis market.
“My investment in Mamedica marks an important step in my career as I look to expand beyond music and into new industries,” Blade tells Complex UK. “I’ve been following the UK medical cannabis sector since it became legal in 2018, and over the past three to four years, I’ve been looking for the right opportunity to get involved. Mamedica stood out to me because of what they were doing and the vision they had for the industry, which aligned with what I wanted to be part of.
“I believe there’s still a significant lack of awareness around the legal medical cannabis sector in the UK, and it’s important that more people understand the treatment options available to those who need them. I see this as an industry that is still in its early stages, with huge potential for growth, and I’m proud to be taking a position in a sector that I believe will continue to develop and make a real difference to people’s lives.”
The partnership marks a natural progression for Blade, whose entrepreneurial outlook has carried through to his career in music and business. His investment comes at a pivotal time for Mamedica; the company secured £4.5 million in funding led by Casa Verde, the U.S. cannabis investment firm co-founded by Snoop Dogg, in September 2025. Since then, its growth has continued to attract attention—with annualised sales reaching £21.5 million in 2025 and its patient base surpassing 15,000.
“Blade is an artist, entrepreneur and investor who understands both the cultural history surrounding cannabis and the importance of building its legal, regulated future,” says Jon Robson, CEO and founder of Mamedica. “Having him join Mamedica as an investor and partner comes at an important point in our growth, as we reach more patients and continue to build the business. His backing supports our ambition to make specialist treatment more accessible across the UK.”
