Thrasher logo hoodies, Vans, and Supreme BOGOs have become so embedded in the fashion world that Vogue felt it necessary to do an entire skate week. The outlet said enough crazy things that we were able to create an entire list around it. Now, someone who was asked to consult on the skate-themed week has shared his feelings on the initiative with Fashionista, and they are not kind.

"I think Vogue is fucking dumb and knows nothing about skating, and their approach was ignorant and stupid," the anonymous "New York-based skate filmer" told Fashionista. He added that he had a frustrating meeting with Vogue during which the mag's staffers shot him "bland, generic" questions. He said that the staff was completely unknowledgeable about skating and the culture that surrounded it and advised them to be careful when broaching the subject.

Other skaters sourced for the story said that they felt that the fashion industry's interest in skate was merely superficial and would come to pass in time. "Skateboarding will come out of popularity sometime soon, but right now is just its time again," a skate shop employee told Fashionista.

While skate brands have managed to hit the mainstream with trendy apparel, the main concern among people who actually skate is that people wearing something like a Thrasher hoodie as a fashion item aren't honoring the culture correctly. "I think it's flattering to skateboarding that it's reaching other areas and other lifestyles, but it sucks if they don't do it properly or get the right people involved," said KCDC Skateshop employee who went simply by "Nathan."
