Travis Kelce knows better than to expect his sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, to abandon the Philadelphia Eagles for anyone. Not even family.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end made that clear during the most recent episode of New Heights, when a conversation about football loyalty turned into a hilarious reminder that Kylie has absolutely no problem telling him where her allegiances lie.
“At least my sister-in-law will tell me to my face, ‘F*ck you, I hope the Birds win,’” Travis said, drawing laughter from his brother, Jason Kelce, and their podcast staffer, Jake Chatzky.
The exchange started when Jason put Chatzky, better known as “Jets Jake,” on the spot ahead of Kansas City's upcoming matchup against the New York Jets. Chatzky grew up rooting for New York but now works for a podcast hosted by one of the Chiefs' biggest stars.
Jason wanted to know which team he was actually supporting.
“Don't make me do this, Jason,” Chatzky pleaded before declaring, “I'm absolutely rooting for Travis, for sure, I am 100% rooting for Travis.”
That answer didn't sit particularly well with Travis.
“You hear that, Jets fans?” he fired back. “He's a f*cking phony. He's a phony.”
When Chatzky attempted to clarify that supporting Travis didn't necessarily mean rooting against the Jets, the tight end wasn't buying it.
“Don't f*cking lie to my face,” Travis said.
That's when he brought up Kylie, whose refusal to wear Chiefs merchandise has become something of a running joke in the Kelce family.
Unlike Chatzky, Kylie has never felt the need to soften her Philadelphia loyalty to accommodate her brother-in-law's NFL career. She's an Eagles fan, she's married to one of the franchise's most beloved former players, and apparently, no amount of family affection is changing that.
Her commitment was especially apparent during Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024, when Travis and the Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers.
Kylie attended the game to support Travis but refused to wear Kansas City gear. Instead, she chose a red University of Cincinnati shirt honoring the college both Kelce brothers attended, with an “Alright Nah” shirt underneath referencing Travis.
Jason later explained that even the prospect of cheering for family couldn't persuade his wife to put on Chiefs merchandise.
“I have tried [saying], ‘Kylie, we have family in the game, it's okay to cheer on that team. They're not playing the Eagles. You realize this isn't against the Eagles, right?’ She just refuses,” Jason said on New Heights.
Travis wasn't offended. Quite the opposite.
“I respect it, Ky,” he said. “I appreciate you even wearing red. You could have worn something neutral and just showed your support. You showing up was enough for me, so I appreciate it.”
Jason also noted that Philadelphia fans appreciated Kylie's refusal to compromise her Eagles allegiance, even with her brother-in-law playing for another NFL powerhouse.
That loyalty has remained intact as the Kelce family has become an increasingly prominent part of the NFL's entertainment landscape. Travis married Taylor Swift in July, Jason has continued building his broadcasting career, and Kylie has established her own following through her Not Gonna Lie podcast.
