In the latest episode of the Fudd Around and Find Out podcast, Dallas Wings teammates Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd confirmed that they broke up over a year ago.
Bueckers, who was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the 2025 WNBA Draft, confirmed that their split happened before Fudd was drafted by the team herself.
“She was not drafted because she was my girlfriend, she was drafted because she deserved it,” said Bueckers, as seen in the clip above. “She’s an amazing human, amazing basketball player. And we’re still friends, we’re still cool. We broke up over a year ago, so we played an entire season together.”
Bueckers and Fudd stressed that they don’t want to receive messages asking about each other, and they don’t want anyone to pry further into their private lives.
Bueckers added, “Sometimes in life, two people are just at different points of their life… We still support each other, we’re still going to be great friends. We’re still going to be great teammates, we’re going to be professionals.”
Bueckers also said that she and Fudd will “eventually move on,” and neither of them should be “punished” by fans for that. The pair confirmed they were in a relationship last year, when they were both playing in the women’s basketball program at the University of Connecticut.
