Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the rest of the season with the Philadelphia Eagles due to blood clots in his lungs. His mother, Pamela, shared a message on TikTok after the news broke Monday, Oct. 19.

"Just a reminder y'all, be grateful," she said. "Be grateful for where you are and what you have because your life could change at a blink of an eye. Be grateful. What are you grateful for?"

Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of support for Hurts and his family.

"Please tell your son how much we love him in Philly!!!" one person wrote, while another added, "Prayers for your baby boy, Mama Hurts!"

Earlier in the day, Jalen's agent, Nicole Lynn, shared additional details about his condition: "After further testing and monitoring, the current diagnosis is a deep vein thrombosis, as well as bilateral pulmonary emboli. He is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations.”

Lynn also said Jalen wouldn't be allowed to participate in "any contact activities, including football."

The news came after the Eagles first announced on Thursday, Oct. 15, that Hurts would miss the team's game on Sunday, Oct. 18, due to a superficial blood clot in his calf.

On Monday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni talked about the situation during a press conference.

"The health of our players is always at the forefront of our minds, and we leave that up to the medical experts, but we always, always care deeply about our players," Sirianni, 45, said. "When you are completely focused on together and connection, you're always thinking about the well-being of your guys, and that's where we were in that situation."
