The auto-lacing Nike Mag sneakers featured in Back to the Future II have been a long time coming. Heavily rumored to be releasing this year — with an official announcement expected within the next week — it turns out that even Michael J. Fox is waiting on the futuristic sneakers to become a reality.
In the clip above, Fox reunites with his old friend "Doc" Brown, played by Christopher Lloyd, to sit down at a diner and catch up on all the movie's predictions that actually happened. 3D films? Check. Fingerprint technology? They got that one right. But how about "those self-tying sneakers?"
"I'm waiting for those," Fox says, followed by a chuckle from Lloyd. So are we, Marty, so are we.
