Ice Cube and Mike Epps have teamed up to launch a new podcast inspired by their roles in the Friday franchise.
On Friday (October 30), the longtime friends and collaborators shared a trailer for Listen & Laugh, which will see the pair sit down with some of the biggest names in music, movies, comedy, sports, and culture.
"From the streets to the suites, Last Friday to first crushes, big breaks and heartbreaks, classic stories and new debates, the conversations get real," a description of the show reads. "The guards come down, the stories get personal, and nothing is off limits. Cube's gonna make you listen and Epps is gonna make you laugh. And sometimes, it will be the other way around."
Guests in the trailer include Dr. Dre, Dana White, Regina King, Jack Harlow, Benny Blanco and Lil Dicky, T.I., Cedric the Entertainer, Michael Blackson, The Game, Stephen A. Smith, and more.
A nod to the beginning of their friendship — which started when they worked together on the movie Next Friday — the set of the podcast is styled in a similar way to the porch Ice Cube and Chris Tucker sat on in the original 1995 movie, Friday. Although, Cube wants to make sure everyone knows that it's not the "original" porch.
"We on the original porch of the Friday movie," Mike Epps says in the Listen & Laugh trailer, right after a shot of the Friday porch cuts away. But then Cube cuts him off. "We are not on the original porch for Friday," he tells his co-host.
While a start date hasn't been revealed, according to the trailer, new episodes of the podcast will air every Friday at 6 P.M. ET / 3 P.M. PT on YouTube and "wherever you get your podcasts."
Ice Cube commented on the YouTube trailer, letting fans know what they can expect from the show. "People will see that me and Mike relationship is very similar to Craig and Day Day but in real life," he wrote.
