Jenna Ortega appears ready to move on from television after Wednesday.

On an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actress opened up about her future plans in Hollywood after she finishes production on the immensely popular Netflix series about Addams Family member Wednesday Addams.

“I actually haven’t had a lot of franchise conversations. I haven’t,” she began. “But what I’m meant to do will come and find me. I think after Wednesday, I’ll probably be off the TV for a while.”

As for why she wants to leave the small screen behind, Ortega’s explanation was simple. She’d spent “many years doing that.”

“I was bouncing from show to show as a kid, this to this, and I want to leave time for new things,” she said.

The next season of Wednesday is set to drop next year. Also starring Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, the series has been a huge hit for Netflix since arriving in 2022, and it’s won four Emmys to date.

Elsewhere in her Happy Sad Confused podcast appearance, Ortega spoke about having better boundaries with fans after childhood media training.

During the interview, Ortega recalled the advice she received back when she acted on different Disney Channel series. "Every time someone meets you, it's probably the only time they're ever going to interact with you, like that's a very special moment in their lives," Ortega recalled being told. "So just be aware of that."

"That has never left me," Ortega added. "And sometimes I try to give myself grace, and I'm trying to have better boundaries."
