Amanda Seales is speaking out about her relationship with a Grenadian man named Alan, accusing his family of treating her like a financial resource while criticizing him for failing to defend her.
In a video that began circulating on Friday (Oct. 30), the Insecure actress opened up about her experience in Grenada, claiming her partner's relatives attempted to take advantage of her financially.
"My man didn't realize the real," Seales began. "And what I want y'all on this island to understand is that I am not here to be a resource to be exploited."
Seales explained that her purpose in Grenada was never about providing money to the people around her. Instead, she wanted to use her platform and knowledge to uplift the community and reconnect people with their roots.
"My wisdom and my gift and my purpose is to be here, to empower everybody to save themselves. To reconnect us to this earth," she said.
She then detailed the alleged financial requests made by her partner's family, including one from his uncle, who she claimed wanted her to purchase a vehicle for a business venture.
"His uncle asked me to buy him a trucks or a van, so he could start a wholesale company, and then claim that he didn't ask me for money," Seales said.
She also accused the mother of Alan's children of demanding financial support while preventing her from having a relationship with the kids.
"His BM said that I need to give him and the children money, but I'm not allowed to see the children, and was posting my picture on WhatsApp," she continued. "You know, this type of behavior is so low vibrational."
However, Seales appeared even more disappointed in her partner's response to the situation.
"A man of stature would say, that is absolutely unacceptable that my uncle did that. That is absolutely unacceptable, that my BM did that," she explained. "And they would say to me, I got you."
Instead, she claimed Alan remained silent and ultimately sided with his family.
"And so to everyone, in Alan Greenwich's life, who suggested that he get money from me? I want you to know that you misdirected this man," she said. "And to him, who did not feel the need to check them. and instead chose them. You have misdirected yourself."
Despite her frustration, Seales acknowledged that the relationship had a meaningful impact on her life.
"I learned so much from Alan. Like, I learned so much from that man, and he was a gift to me, and so, so, so many ways," she said.
Still, she insisted that remaining silent about her experience wasn't an option.
"The thing about it, though, is I can't be quiet about this, because I need to be very clear to everyone on this island in Grenada, who you are dealing with."
Seales, whose mother was born and raised in Grenada, holds dual American and Grenadian citizenship.
