We know how it is: so many things to watch, so little time. Between what’s on Netflix, YouTube, and rewatching that GTA VI extended look for the umpteenth time, we are inundated with options. And while variety is said to be the spice of life, doomscrolling streaming services hoping for a dopamine hit can be a different kind of nightmare.
That’s where What to Watch comes in; at the end of every week, we will hit you with a selection of movies, TV shows, and other Pop Culture events to have on your viewing radar. This weekend, for example, features everything from Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil to the beginning of the end of Lanterns and Season 2 of MobLand hitting Paramount+. Here’s a look at everything you need to be watching this weekend.

Resident Evil
Premiere Date: September 18, 2026
Cregger’s follow-up to 2025’s Weapons transports us to Raccoon City mid-outbreak, following a medical courier (Austin Abrams) tasked with an important delivery in the city. As you can see, his night takes many horrific turns, bringing out the true horror in a film built within the world of the Resident Evil games and inspired by it. It’s as funny as it is bloody, and is sure to own the box office this weekend.
MobLand Season 2
Premiere Date: September 18, 2026
After confirming that MobLand star Tom Hardy was not fired from the series, it’s finally time for the critically acclaimed series to drop stateside. With so much drama hitting the Harrigans last season, it’s interesting to think Season 2 will focus more on threats coming from within. Solid cast, big crime energy; all episodes are available now on Paramount+.
If I Go, Will They Miss Me
Premiere Date: September 18 (nationwide)
With A24’s Moonlight celebrating its 10th anniversary in October, If I Go Will They Miss Me may be a great look at what Moonlight was able to help usher in. Fans of Lanterns should know J. Alphonse Nicholson, who plays Big Ant, the father figure in this tale. Director Walter Thompson-Hernández highlights the Watts neighborhood where the film takes place; a smaller feature, but not one to sleep on if it’s playing near you.
Lanterns, Season 1, Episode 6
Premiere Date: September 20, 2206
After the events of last week’s episode, it looks like we are returning to another mystery that was left in our laps: what happened to Hal? This week, John Stewart wants answers.
And if you want some insight on the rest of the season, here’s a teaser that HBO provided earlier this week:
