Allen’s 2008 sex comedy was a return to form for the venerable director. A change of scenery and a cast full of fresh blood seemed to give him a jolt of life after a few down years. Featuring some impeccable cinematography in Barcelona, Allen put together a gorgeous cast to match the classic city. And Rebecca Hall, while not an obvious choice, proved to have the type of accessible beauty that Allen gravitates towards.

It takes a veteran eye like Woody Allen’s to truly see the beauty in every one his cast members, and the criminally underrated Hall has never looked better than she did under the watchful lens of Allen.

Borrowing certain plot elements from his earlier film Crimes and Misdemeanors, this movie cemented Scarlett Johansson as the sex symbol for a generation. And, despite her curves, this also happens to be one of her strongest performances, playing a home-wrecking side-piece for the married Chris Wilton, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Even though she has appeared in various other Woody Allen films, it’s in Match Point where she strikes the perfect balance between being both an actress and a bombshell. She’s also shown in a tight red bathing suit during the film that would send most red blooded males running for a cold shower. Or maybe a hot one with some bath lotions.
