Lil Baby is taking gaming to a whole new level, risking his hands in the jaws of an alligator ahead of the release of his new album, FRESH.
On Wednesday (November 4), the Atlanta rapper took to Instagram to share photos and a video of him playing the Xbox Series X-BITE, a working one-of-one console built into a five-foot alligator.
According to a press release, the stunt sees Lil Baby make "history as the first person in the world to play the Series X-BITE."
The custom console sits inside an elaborately crafted alligator, with the gaming system visible through an illuminated Xbox Nexus logo in the creature's body. Its matching wireless controller rests between the alligator's jaws, while its eyes feature Xbox-green irises and pupils inspired by the company's logo.
Despite the elaborate design, the console still works. "The idea is simple: an alligator swallowed an XBOX Series X whole. And yes, it still works," Microsoft explained in its announcement.
John Nolan Studio, the creature and animatronics shop behind work on Jurassic World Dominion, The Witcher, and HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series, made the piece using 3D modeling, sculpting and fabrication. Xbox added a disclaimer: "No actual alligators were used or harmed in the making of this console. Best as display only."
Xbox pulled the wraps off the console on Tuesday (November 3), crediting Florida wildlife as the inspiration, and opened a sweepstakes on X, Instagram and TikTok the same day. To enter, fans need to follow @Xbox, repost the official post and add #XbiteSweepstakes by hand from a public account.
Anyone hoping to take the gator home has until Tuesday, November 10, at 11:59 P.M. PT to enter. Only legal residents of the 50 states and D.C. who are 18 or older can enter, and the winner gets 48 hours to claim the prize.
The gator stunt lands just ahead of FRESH, Lil Baby's fifth studio album and his first studio album since WHAM topped the Billboard 200 in January 2025.
The 17-track project, which arrives on Friday (November 6) via Quality Control/Motown, brings back Future, Young Thug and Rylo Rodriguez, while Metro Boomin and London On Da Track are among the producers.
Under Complex Music's X post, one user wrote: "Lil Baby getting a gator Xbox before the rest of us is the most rapper thing ever 🐊." Another argued that "Doechii would have been a better artist for the collaboration."
