P-Lo is gearing up to release a new album — and he’s recruited Marshawn Lynch to help tease it.
On Tuesday (June 23), the Bay Area rapper took to Instagram to share a cinematic trailer announcing Out the Box, which is due to arrive this summer.
The short, but hilarious teaser features a person who represents "Inside the Box," depicted as having a very professional look and tone, and "Out the Box," which is represented by Lynch. The two manifestations have a touching philosophical chat about moving the culture and making decisions.
"OUT THE BOX (THE ALBUM) My new album drops this summer," P-Lo captioned his post. "Comment [emoji] if you're ready for some new music!"
According to a press release, Out the Box will represent "a creative philosophy rooted in breaking boundaries and moving beyond conventional limitations."
Lynch's appearance in the trailer isn't out of nowhere. The Oakland-born NFL running back, nicknamed Beast Mode and best known for his time with the Seattle Seahawks, crashed P-Lo's set at Coachella 2026, where the two performed together on "S/O Alysa Liu."
P-Lo also posted a TikTok clip from the festival under the title "Meet My Famous Friend at Coachella," cementing the connection between the two before the album announcement went live.
Out the Box’s title track was released earlier this year. The project will be P-Lo's follow-up to For the Soil, his 2025 collab project released through San Francisco label Empire and the Golden State Warriors' Golden State Entertainment.
That record pulled together an intergenerational Bay Area roster including E-40, Too $hort, Larry June, G-Eazy, Saweetie, and Kamaiyah, among others.
