UPDATE (10/5/15): Chilly Gonzales released a statement on Facebook and retracted his original comment implicating Hozier of plagiarism:
Hozier just released his own response on Facebook.
On an episode of his BBC Pop Masterclass series, Chilly Gonzales recently accused Hozier, the artist behind the hit single "Take Me To Church," of plagiarism. Gonzales noted how similar the composition is to his former collaborator Feist's "How Come You Never Go There," adding that Feist's song came out a year before Hozier's.
"Doesn't look so good, does it? 'Take Me To Church?' Maybe Feist should take him to court," he said in the video that has since been removed.
Following a report in The Times (Ireland), Hozier has started a defamation case in the High Court. His manager Caroline Downey was most recently quoted in the TheSunday Times calling Gonzales' allegations "groundless."
