Key Takeaways

  • Halle Bailey will release a deluxe edition of Love?…Or Something Like It on Friday, October 23, adding five songs nearly a year after her solo debut.
  • Bailey said she was “not quite ready to close this chapter,” describing the album as a reflection of “learning, growing, healing” and the different ways love can appear.

Halle Bailey isn't finished telling her story. Nearly a year after releasing her debut solo album, Love?…Or Something Like It, the singer has announced a deluxe edition featuring five additional tracks, arriving Friday, October 23.

And judging by her announcement, she's not ready to put the project’s emotions to rest just yet.

Bailey confirmed the release on Instagram, saying the expanded album arrives as she approaches the first anniversary of her solo debut. "Almost a year of love?..or something like it 🥹🩵 and i'm not quite ready to close this chapter yet," she wrote. "So i'm giving you 5 more songs on the deluxe, out friday!!"

She continued, "A year of learning, growing, healing, and discovering all the different ways love can find us. This album has always been a little piece of my heart, and i'm so grateful you've held it so gently."

The announcement brings Bailey back to a project that made an immediate impression when it arrived on October 24, 2025, through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records. Love?…Or Something Like It generated 798,000 Spotify streams during its first full day, giving Bailey a substantial opening for her first full-length solo release.

The original 15-track album also brought serious star power. Chlöe, H.E.R., GloRilla, and Mariah the Scientist contributed guest appearances, while RAYE, Sevyn Streeter, BongoByTheWay, D. Phelps, and Freaky Rob were among the songwriters and producers involved. Bailey herself earned writing credits throughout the project.

One of its biggest moments was "So I Can Feel Again," which reunited Bailey with her older sister and Chlöe x Halle partner, Chlöe. Bailey previously told Billboard that the collaboration was practically unavoidable.

"I hear my sister on so many songs, I think it's the way my brain is wired," she explained. "When it came to our song 'Feel Again,' I was like, 'I cannot do this song without Chlöe, I need to hear her on this.'"

The reunion even earned Beyoncé's approval. Bailey revealed she played the track for her longtime Parkwood mentor, who was especially excited to hear the sisters together again.

"I played this one for [Beyoncé] too," Bailey said. "And she was obsessed with hearing our voices again together."

The album also arrived after a difficult stretch in Bailey's personal life. She and rapper DDG, who share their son Halo, separated in October 2024 following more than two years together. Their subsequent custody dispute became public, while Bailey continued navigating single motherhood and an increasingly demanding Hollywood career.

Earlier this year, Bailey credited her family, particularly the women in her life, with helping her manage those responsibilities. "You don't do it alone," she told People. "I feel grateful that I have beautiful women in my life that surround me and lift me up and that are my village."

Meanwhile, her acting career has continued to move forward, with You, Me & Tuscany and a role alongside Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti in Jesse Eisenberg's A24 musical comedy The Debut, adding to her film résumé.
