T.I.’s sons Domani and King Harris are following in his footsteps with their own rap careers, but the former almost took a different path in life.
In an interview with Real 92.3 LA, which can be seen above, the pair were asked whether they had any other careers in mind before they settled on music careers.
“It was three things I wanted to do as a kid,” replied King. “It was either football, boxing, or singing. It was always those for me.”
Domani, meanwhile, shared a more surprising answer.
“Man, I was all over the place, I ain’t going to lie,” replied Domani. “I was drawing… Magician, that’s the wildest thing. … David Blaine, Criss Angel, all them magicians.”
Asked if he ever went so far as to study being a magician, he said he actually did.
“As a kid, yeah,” he said. “Whatever I did, it don’t matter how crazy it sounded, I dove [in] 100 percent.”
Domani revealed that he learned a levitation trick at one point during his foray into studying magic. When he showed the trick to his dad, he simply responded, “How you do that?” Asked if he’s “perfected” the art of levitation since he was a kid, he laughed, “I don’t search for perfection, man.”
Domani is currently out on tour in support of his most recent project, Hot Seat. The LP dropped in March and features a collaboration with King, who appears on the closing track, “One of You.”
