Post Malone has offered a teaser of a new song, and it sounds like he’s kept his promise to embrace hip-hop again after pivoting with his previous two albums, Austin and F-1 Trillion.
In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 28), Post Malone previewed a new song with that distinctive hip-hop and R&B-influenced sound he built his name on with albums such as Stoney and Beerbongs & Bentleys. It has the same trap-style production that Post Malone frequently used in his earlier material, straying from the rock and pop sound of Austin, and the outright country record F-1 Trillion.
“Eternal Buzz coming soon,” Posty teased alongside the clip, which can be seen below. “Love you mofo’s.”
He also added a hashtag to the post indicating that the song could be titled “Bad Mood.”
The untitled song is expected to appear on Post Malone’s long-teased album, The Eternal Buzz. He previously indicated that it’s going to be a double album, with 20 songs on each disc. He’s yet to announce a release date for the project, but with the arrival of this teaser, and a similar teaser earlier this year, it would appear as though fans won’t have to wait much longer.
In May, Malone announced that he was postponing a few early dates on his Big Ass Stadium Tour to focus on finishing up the album.
“Truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts," he explained. "We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about three weeks to get this music done."
He also suggested that he hasn’t forgotten about “ole Stoney,” referring to his debut album of the same name.
