Kanye West Reportedly Set to Unveil Yeezy Season 6 at NYFW

West is reportedly set to keep his Yeezy show in New York, despite reports of other designers opting instead for Paris.

As New York Fashion Week's September start date draws closer, speculation on which designers will remain is reaching a fever pitch. This week, Women's Wear Dailyreported that Kanye West is among those expected to return to New York instead of opting for a Paris debut for the highly anticipated Yeezy Season 6.

Sources said Tuesday that West is currently "in talks" with Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) officials about nailing down a time slot on the calendar for the spring 2018 season shows. A rep for Adidas, WWDnoted, declined to confirm a location or additional details for the Yeezy Season 6 show. A CFDA rep declined to comment. The official NYFW calendar has not been made publicly available.

Back in February, CFDA boss Steven Kolb called the timing of West's Yeezy Season 5 show "disruptive" and "unfair." Initially, West had selected a time slot at Pier 59 Studios that directly coincided with the Marchesa show. According to reports at the time, West had not consulted the CFDA about scheduling, a move that angered the group.

"As the scheduler of the week, the CFDA works with more than 300 brands to identify appropriate times for them to show their collections and avoid scheduling conflicts," Kolb said in Februrary. "Not going through the proper channels is disruptive to the whole week and unfair to designers who have secured spots through the formal procedure." West later rescheduled his show, with Kolb tellingHypebeast that West had planned the original time while "unaware" of any potential conflict.

If West stays in New York for Yeezy Season 6, it will mark the sixth straight Yeezy collection to be unveiled during NYFW.
