Swizz Beatz Calls Out Balenciaga for Ripping Off Ruff Ryders Logo

Swizz Beatz said he wants to have a talk with Balenciaga "ASAP."

Swizz Beatz publicly called out Balenciaga Thursday for a piece in their Spring/Summer 2018 collection that bears a striking resemblance to the iconic Ruff Ryders Entertainment logo. In an Instagram post featuring a zoomed-in image of the piece in question, Beatz said Balenciaga needed to speak with him "about this Ruff Ryder shirt" as soon as possible.

As a refresher, here's what the Ruff Ryders' iconic logo looks like:

In the hours since Beatz' post, the official Balenciaga Instagram page has been flooded with criticism:

The design—which includes a heavily stylized "B" letter—has also been called into question on Twitter:

In his Instagram post Thursday, Beatz also referenced a similar incident involving Gucci and legendary Harlem tailor Dapper Dan. After causing an uproar on social media with what many considered an obvious knockoff of a classic Dan custom piece, Gucci released a statement calling the jacket an "homage" to Dan's influence.

Reps for Balenciaga, Ruff Ryders Entertainment, and Swizz Beatz did not immediately respond to Complex's requests for comment.

Swizz Beatz, DMX, Eve, the Lox, and Drag-On will head out on a 10-date reunion tour in September. Fat Joe will also perform on select dates.
