Free Skateboard Magazine has linked up with Converse to create Homegrown, a series of films showing the lives and inspirations of Converse Cons’ European skateboarders. The first film in the series focuses on Swedish skater David Stenström in his hometown of Stockholm, and was filmed and edited by independent filmmaker Dan Magee. As well as looking at skating in the Swedish capital, the film also shows Stenström talking openly about the influence of his late father. Speaking to Complex UK about why the film was different to normal skate movies, Stenström said "It’s kind of private, it’s kind of personal and I’ve never done anything like that before."

Watch the first Homegrown film above, and keep an eye out for the next installment in the series from Converse and Free Skateboard Magazine. You can also read more about recent releases of the Converse One Star, which David wears in the film, here.
