Emo, selfie-taking mannequins imitating the real life, phone obsessed tween generation of today are here thanks to River Island. The London-based street fashion brand has introduced a new set of mannequins in its store including ones holding phones up in the selfie position.

Things get especially weird with some of the other mannequins that look like they are having the worst time ever, sitting crouched in an almost fetal position, staring straight into the ground. One Twitter user summed it up perfectly by writing, "the river island mannequins look like they're hungover in the shower thinking about their life choices. u ok hun." Another user responded, "I think they're on a selfie binge come down."

River Island responded to the commentary by describing the displays as "distinctive" and noting that the new mannequins are a way to keep their customer's experience "fresh and different," according to The Guardian.

Obviously, the customers have a lot to say about the new mannequins that fill the space while they shop. Here's hoping those very sad looking mannequins feel better soon.
