Great news for any guy who has ever stood longingly in the family planning aisle at CVS and thought, “If only there were a way I could wear a condom, not only on my penis, but also on my entire body:” Your prayers have been answered, thanks to SKYN Condoms. The company announced SKYNFEEL APPAREL this week—the all-caps branding lets you know how big it is—an initiative to incorporate SKYN’s trademarked SKYNFEEL condom material into clothing design. The venture marks the brand’s first foray into wrapping you up from head to toe, as opposed to just from head to…you get it.

Before you get too excited by this news, understand that, like your sex life, SKYNFEEL APPAREL is still very much just a concept at this time. Designer Pauline van Dongen created a prototype of an athlete’s jumpsuit as a way to show off another potential use for the material, but the brand currently has no intention of selling it to consumers.

David Chaker, senior director of global brand marketing at Ansell—the company that owns SKYN—says the design team was inspired not by horny Olympians dodging Zika in Rio, but by an appropriately phallic dragonfly. “When an athlete soars into the air, the flaps [on the jumpsuit] open up, creating an upward lift that could help long jumpers stay in the air a little bit longer,” he explains to Complex. “The apparel hasn’t been formally tested in labs, but our aerodynamics consultants say that, in theory, SKYNFEEL APPAREL could actually help athletes jump just a little bit further.” And who wants to live in a world where you can’t trust a condom company’s aerodynamics consultants? Not I.

Using SKYNFEEL material for performance clothing may not be quite as much of a stretch as it seems at first; after all, it was developed to allow for movement, to withstand friction, and to be light and comfortable against the skin. Or, as Chaker puts it, in prophylactic marketing terms: It’s “like wearing nothing at all.” Despite all that, Chaker cautions that the jumpsuit is not a substitute for wearing a condom, so you shouldn’t try to have sex through it. “No,” he says. “This conceptual project explores what the innovative SKYNFEEL material might bring to the world of sports. SKYN is proud to be the only brand offering a range of condom styles using the innovative material—though we don't offer a full body size yet!”

Yet? So, you’re saying there’s a chance? “We remain open to continuing to push the boundaries within the sexual wellness category and beyond,” Chaker adds coyly. “Especially in related categories like underwear.” Underwear made from condoms. What a time to be alive and sexually safe.
