William Shakespeare is pretty much universally agreed to be an absolute don of a writer, and to mark the 400th anniversary of his death, the reFASHIONed Theatre on LG campaign has teamed up with Liam Hodges to launch an exclusive capsule collection with Selfridges.

If you’re not aware of Liam Hodges, the bottom line is that he's one of the most exciting young designers around right now. The 25 year-old MAN alumni is known for breaking conventions and rewriting the rules of menswear fashion, and now he's working with poet and wordsmith James Massiah—both are working with the charity Bettering Education—BBK’s DJ Maximum and Birmingham producer/DJ Preditah around the launch of this collection.

The capsule touches on the themes of youth, time, nostalgia, love and music—prominent factors in any Shakespeare classic. Hodges’ has worked on a T-shirt, sweatshirt and shirt, each wearing typography inspired from classic hip-hop stables and crews like Ruff Ryders, No Limit Records and State Property. Each piece features a skull-based design, a nod to the tour merch of retro heavy metal bands and the character of Yorick in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

The capsule launch also coincides with a ReCITED launch event where James Massiah will be performing three individual poems, like the bards of old in Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, while Maximum and Preditah will be on hand to provide the tunes.

This will all take place on July 7 at the Selfridges department store in Oxford Street, London. For a closer look at the collection, scroll through the gallery below.
