THE FAN is one brand that you definitely need to keep on your radar as it's steadily on the come-up. Forged from the minds of designer Elle Azhdari and stylist Cristina Aranda-Garzon, THE FAN is inspired by—and celebrates—pop culture icons. Both designers grew up during the all-encompassing and influential MTV generation, a time when music videos were the catalyst for style and innovation. Another source of inspiration is the iconic merchandise and memorabilia during the height of music video culture.
For their upcoming MEGASTAR collection, Azhdari and Aranda-Garzon have looked to the iconic covers of Interview Magazine by the legendary Andy Warhol and hand paintings by Richard F. Bernstein. The collection features patchwork images of larger-than-life icons such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Jack Nicholson, Grace Jones and Jean Michel Basquiat, as well as Warhol himself, all of whom rubbed shoulders during the pinnacle of New York's storied Studio 54.
Coming in the collection is an MA1 bomber jacker available in orange and silver, decorated with patches from Interview Magazine, THE FAN and the infamous Warhol x Basquiat poster. The jacket itself is made in the US and customised in the UK, produced from 100% flight nylon, with nylon lining and a polyester fill. It also offers a reversible option which features a lone THE FAN logo. This is accompanied by their MA1 style gilet; following the same concept as the bomber, it comes in orange and silver and features the same style patch designs and the same reversible option for both colourways, as well as raw edge sleeves.
The collection is finished off with a pair of T-shirts, which come in black and grey. The back is treated to a huge print of Michael Jackson's Interview Magazine cover from 1984, whilst the front features THE FAN logo.
