Since launching last year the adidas Originals’ Spezial collection has been integral in showcasing the visual history of the three-stripes brand. Focusing on its rich European heritage the new Spezial heritage collection takes to the French Riviera for Spring/Summer 2016.
The iconic coastline, and the neighbouring city of Marseille, is the prefect setting for the new lookbook and the accompanying film, which adds to the visual grandiose that the Spezial collection aims to encapsulate. Partnering up with Gary Aspden and &SON (with the musical score from Cherrystones), the film tells multiple stories from a group of individuals with talents ranging from music and poetry to sailing and diving.
The collection includes eleven apparel pieces that have been redesigned and remade in premium fabrics and modern cuts. Pieces such as the Hardwood Anorak have been updated for a highly waterproof fisherman-style jacket, whilst the popular Beckenbauer tracksuit from Autumn/Winter 2014 makes a welcome return this season, this time cut in a luxury grey pique.
The Collection will be split into two drops, the first will be released on March 19 and second on the 27. Both of which will be available at select adidas Originals retailers as well as their webstore, for a closer look at the collection check the gallery below.
