Alexander Wang declined to renew his contract with Parisian fashion house Balenciaga earlier this year. While no specific reason has been announced, it’s rumored that Wang will look to spend more time with his namesake label. Now that Wang has concluded his final runway show with Balenciaga, three names have popped up as potential replacements: Chitose Abe, Julien Dossena, and Bouchra Jarrar.

Abe, the Tokyo-based designer of Sacai (who’s also spent time at Comme des Garçons), is the current favorite according to The New York Times. Julien Dossena, the up-and-coming artistic director of Paco Rabanne, has previously worked with Balenciaga under Nicolas Ghesquière. Rounding out the short list of candidates is Bouchra Jarrar, a fellow alumnus of Ghesquière’s Balenciaga, who’s currently designer of her own namesake label.

All of Mr. Wang’s potential replacements have remained tight-lipped about the situation, but we can expect to learn more information in the coming weeks.
