The symbiotic relationship between technology and fashion is stronger than ever. So it’s fitting that the Metropolitan Museum of Art has decided to celebrate that union with the 2016 Met Gala theme, “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.”

According to Vogue, the accompanying exhibition will feature over 100 haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces, which will highlight the differences between handcrafted clothing and machine-made fashion.

“Traditionally, the distinction between the haute couture and prêt-à-porter was based on the handmade and the machine-made,” Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton told Vogue. “But recently this distinction has become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraced the practices and techniques of the other.”

The gala—set to take place May 2—will be hosted by co-chairs Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Jonathan Ive, and Anna Wintour. It was also announced that Apple will sponsor the event and exhibition, which is expected be much less controversial than this year’s theme, "China: Through the Looking Glass.”

But one question remains: Will this tech-focused event continue to ban selfies? We'll see if Wintour has a change of heart.
