Are You Ready, Kids? A Minor League Baseball Team Is Going to Wear 'SpongeBob Squarepants' Jerseys

Who plays baseball in a pineapple under the sea? Apparently the Norfolk Tides, the Tripe A-affiliate of The Baltimore Orioles, which is planning to rock these SpongeBob Squarepants-themed jerseys, according to a press release.

The team will wear the novelty jerseys against the Indianapolis Indians, which, get this, is the minor league affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, on Aug. 7. The night will also have SpongeBob and Patrick Star costumed-characters on hand as well as music and triviain-line with the theme. The one-of-a-kind uniforms will be auctioned off—with all proceeds going to United Way—during the game. 

The Baltimore Orioles organization must be particularly desperate to draw crowds to its minor league games. The O's High-A team recently wore Rugrats-themed jerseys. In the past, other minor league teams have worn jerseys in the style of Batman, Chewbacca from Star Warsand Ghostbusters.
