As the master of “Japanese cool,”Undercover has deftly fused high-end designs with classic streetwear since it debuted its first men’s collection in 2010. However, for Spring/Summer 2016, designer Jun Takahashi goes back even further by referencing the brand’s 25-year history.

Titled “The Greatest,” this range has reworked some of its most recognizable pieces from past seasons—reinterpreting key designs with new colors, silhouettes, and fabrications. We see signature Undercover elements updated throughout, like its killer mix of traditional workwear and forward-thinking details, as well as a good amount of prints and unique graphics.

The standout for this release, however, has to be the Star Wars motif, which the brand used in its Fall/Winter 2000 collection titled “Ambivalance.” Tees, bombers, headwear, and accessories are adorned with all-over galaxy prints, as well as text that read “SITH” and “JEDI.” It’s an element that sums up this collection extremely well: a nod to the past as well as the future.
