Yesterday afternoon, three thieves dressed in black suits, red bow ties, and fedoras went inside a Madison Avenue jewelry store for a good ol’ fashioned smash-and-grab.

At around 1 p.m. EST, the armed trio entered the Tourneau store near East 53rd St., and began smashing cases with hammers and stuffing Rolex watches into duffle bags. Though no one was hit, one of the suspects fired two shots from a semi-automatic weapon, which caught the attention of police officers dressed in plainclothes. Law enforcement then began chasing the thieves on foot, catching one of them on Park Avenue. The subject who arrested was found to be carrying a bag filled with stolen goods, which were later placed in evidence.

“It seems like they knew what they were doing, so basically, it wasn’t the first time in the store the Rolex shop. I don’t know,” store clerk Ismaili Torres told CBS. “But they knew what they were doing.”

Unfortunately, the two other suspects are still at large. Stay tuned as more information comes in.
