Last summer, the Internet went nuts when dozens of celebrity nude photos were leaked online in what will forever be known as "The Fappening." The leak continued for several weeks, with more and more photos surfacing of stars including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Lawrence, Kaley Cuoco, and several others. Victims of the hack and other celebrities spoke out against people sharing the photos, and some denied that the photos were of their bodies. Model Kate Upton remained silent about the whole thing until a recent interview with the London Evening Standard.

"It was very difficult," said Upton about the leak. "It’s an invasion of my privacy and it’s not OK. It’s illegal. People don’t have a right to look at those photos or to judge them." An artist even tried to exhibit the photos in a gallery, but was shut down by public backlash and petitions. 22-year-old Upton also said that she has fantasized about leaving Twitter and Instagram, but she just can't.

Jennifer Lawrence and others have also called The Fappening an illegal sex crime, and the sites like reddit have since changed their policies on the kinds of nude photos that can be shared, but no one has been found guilty for the acts.
