Gisele Bündchen is really retiring from the catwalk, CR Fashion Book has pointed out.
According to the publication, the supermodel made the announcement today via a statement given to Folha de São Paulo, a newspaper in her hometown of Brazil. "Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop," Bündchen said. "I respect my body, it’s a privilege to be able to stop. I don’t see how to continue modeling on the catwalk." Bündchen added that she'll be working on other projects "for myself," though she didn't provide any specific information.
Rumors of Bündchen's retirement first surfaced back in March, with some sources suggesting she'd walk in her last show during São Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil. A few days later, it was reported that Bündchen's sister, Patricia, had released a statement, confirming the news.
