The news of Gisele Bündchen's retirement from the runway may actually have been overblown, according to the model's longtime agent Anne Nelson.

"There’s been a lot of things that were lost in translation throughout this whole process," Nelson told The New York Times. Nelson, who has been Bündchen's agent for almost 20 years, clarified that the supermodel was only retiring from "the Brazilian runway." Nelson said Bündchen would prefer to not do shows in general, but that her client is not ruling it out completely. "It would have to come within an interesting angle, a unique opportunity," Nelson said.

The news comes as a bit of a shock since her retirement was was seemingly confirmed by Bündchen and her husband Tom Brady. "It’s a privilege to be able to stop," Bündchen told her hometown newspaper Folha de São Paulo. "It is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice," she added on her Instagram. Meanwhile, Brady wrote a heartfelt letter on his Facebook about how he "can't wait to see what's next" for his supermodel wife.

Bündchen has maintained throughout this process that she wants to continue to work in the industry, but this is the first we are hearing of a continued runway career. "It is important that we continue to work on all kinds of capacities within the fashion industry," Nelson said. "It’s also important that as her representative we bring every interesting opportunity her way. We’ll continue to do exactly that going forward."
