Save your dates, your coworkers, and everyone on the subway from the discomfort of having to endure your halitosis with Mint, a tiny portable device that lets you know when your breath stinks. Created by San Francisco-based company Breathometer, and funded on Kickstarter, Mint works like a breathalyzer—except instead of measuring your level of intoxication, it gages whether you need to pop a mint or not.

The device functions by picking up on compounds like hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan, which cause bad breath. It even lets you know if you're dehydrated, another major culprit behind unpleasant mouth odors. Mint works in conjunction with iOS and select Android phones, displaying its results through a free app.

Breathometer expects the release date for Mint to be around August 2015. In the meantime, please remember to floss.
