Project Perpetual recently hosted their inaugural Dinner & Auction to benefit the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign, which gives children around the world access to life-saving vaccines. The live auction was hosted by artist Simon de Pury and featured ten works by Jeff Koons: the Gazing Ball plaster statue that incorporates three Hermès Birkin bags, and the Birkin Bag (Shelf) wall sculptures that include bags as readymade objects on mirrors.

The Birkin bags that Koons used in his art were donated by celebrities, including Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Naomi Campbell, Sofia Coppola, Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz, Reem Beljafla, Countess Daniela Memmo D’Amelio, HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover, Marie-Josée Kravis, Clara Kuo, and Almine Ruiz-Picasso. The auction raised $5.5 million for the organization, which will mean a lot of vaccines for children who really need them.
