Copping the weekly sneaker and collection releases will deplete even the deepest of bank accounts. Before you throw it in the bag, give your bank account a once over and try to learn how to budget.

The whole reason hypebeasts get made fun of so much is their ability to get wrapped up in trends so completely and so quickly. It begins and ends right there, so stop with the notion that you'll be rocking something that's of the moment when you're old and gray.

You can lie to yourself as much you want to, and your girl can say “it's no big deal,” but don't fool yourself for a second: girls generally won't pass on a nice dinner and a movie to spend date night camped out in line at Supreme.

While the items your neighborhood hypebeast cops generally are—well, hyped—not all of them are prime for a resell market. Just because an item sells well on day one doesn't necessarily determine its popularity or its back stock. Don't forget, if the item gets a restock (or just doesn't sell out like you planned), you can kiss your resell opportunities goodbye.

Sure, collections and pieces are released in limited quantities, and with items like Supreme's Foams and Air Force 1s selling out instantly, the heat of the moment may inspire a purchase you'll soon come to regret. With restocks and re-releases happening more often than you may realize, it may be worth it to take the risk and sleep (for now).

On the whole, girls don't care what brands you wear, no matter what you try and tell yourself. Focus more on being a decent human being and you'll do a lot better than solely caring about hyped gear.

If you find yourself living at home, spending any and all money you were planning to save for an apartment or pay bills on the “next big piece,” and still can't afford to do anything else—a new Rick Owens bomber or box logo hoodie aren't going to fix your cool factor.

Most hypebeasts are only copping to one-up their fellow hypebeasts. When a brand catches fire in this insular community, it doesn't matter if there's an alternate version if it doesn't have the right logo or detailing that signal a particular purchase, so don't front like you'd  happily rock a hoodie from Aeropostale if it somehow looks like a hyped label.

If you even have to come up with this sentence to defend your choices, then you're convincing no one but yourself.
