Scandinavian streetwear brand Wood Wood teams up with Disney for a capsule collection. The meeting between the two disparate brands is unexpected, but that’s how Wood Wood, a brand with “Not To Be Trusted” as its slogan, wants it.

Wood Wood designer Brian SS Jensen was drawn to Disney’s Mickey Mouse not only because of its status as “a global pop-culture phenomenon” but also, in true streetwear fashion, because of the slight controversy surrounding the iconic character. “I find it really interesting how Mickey Mouse has all these different connotations depending on who you talk to,” Jensen told i-D. “This contradictory symbolism is probably what attracts me the most to Mickey.”

The collection features a warped “house of mirrors” version of Mickey Mouse created using a photocopier that's been placed on shirts, sweaters, and a bomber jacket. Other graphic elements combine the logos of the two brands on a sweater.

Wood Wood also revealed plans for a capsule collection with Champion USA releasing in January, but has no definitive plans beyond that, except to make “interesting connections” with brands.

The Wood Wood and Disney collection is pre-releasing at colette in Paris on Oct. 20 before making its way select retailers, like Liberty and Goodhood in the UK, German site mytheresa.com, SPRMKT in the Netherlands, and all Wood Wood stores on Nov. 3. The clothes will also be available for pre-order at woodwood.dk on Oct. 27, for those of you wh can’t make it to a physical location.
