In what Dazed refers to as "a commentary of a non-fabricated slice of life post-Internet," artist Beau Rice recently published a book titled Tex that includes 18 months worth of G-chat messages and emails between him and his friends, strangers, and colleagues.

"Technology has birthed a paradoxical space between isolation and connectivity, profoundly expanding the possibilities for how and with whom we create intimacy," writes the publisher of Tex, Penny-Ante Editions. They say that the 255-page book is "an experiment between the epistolary and the ectype...a performance act in print." Dazed got their digital hands on exclusive excerpts from the book, which are interesting to say the least. There is an email to the artist's bosses about him tearing a ligament while doing ballet moves in a hot tub, and another with an identified man looking to hook up for some good old fashioned BDSM and mummification.

For more information on this project and to explore what a "performance act in print" looks like, head to Dazed to read the excerpts and to find out where you can pre-order Rice's book.
