British heritage knitwear brand John Smedley is built on over 200 years of craftsmanship, quality and knowledge, and today announced that they are once again collaborating with Comme Des Garçons. The coming together of British Heritage with Japanese design will be extremely limited, with only 40 pieces going on sale worldwide.

Designer Junya Watanabe, has reworked the classic John Smedley "Bower" pullover, working with the distinctly British style and fusing it with Japanese innovation and design.

The construction of the garments was incredibly complicated; the premium New Zealand merino wool is woven into panels at John Smedley’s Lea Mills factory, believed to be the oldest in constant production in the world, the wool is is then sent to Japan to be hand embroidered and finished by Comme Des Garçons, leaving a slight detail of the raw seaming. Available in charcoal and navy, each pullover wears Junya Watanabe’s signature plaid Union Jack.
