Since its U.S. introduction in 2011, Parisian label Sandro Homme has experienced increasing momentum for its contemporary interpretation of classic menswear. In an effort to keep up with the demand, Sandro Homme has recently launched The Workshop, a temporary retail space on Spring Street in New York City that also serves as an evolving art studio.
Inspired by Sandro Homme’s Fall/Winter 2014 campaign, the concept emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between art and style while also showcasing emerging talent.
At the beginning of every month, a contemporary artist will have one week to produce live installation art in the 800-square-foot space, providing a unique experience for customers as they shop the current collection. Once the initial setup is complete, the space will then act as a gallery until the next artist takes the reigns.
Beginning this week, An Hoang will be the first resident-artist to be featured in The Workshop, followed by Joseph Hart in October. With a tagline like “Let Them Paint,” it’s safe to assume there will be some epic work produced.
