"It's not a digital book or an e-book; it's a bookbook."

IKEA is known for their unique and affordable furniture, but they decided to show the world that they also have a great sense of humor with their latest ad. IKEA Singapore recently launched an ad campaign for their 2015 catalog, and this week they uploaded a YouTube video titled "Experience the power of a bookbook™." The video features "Chief Design Guru" Jörgen Eghammer on a stool speaking about the features of the new catalog. The ad is a spoof of the numerous Apple ads with designer Jony Ive, and it is brilliant.

Everything about this is perfect: the music, Eghammer's performance, how it was shot, and especially the way the catalog is being framed as the most "simple and intuitive" new device on the market. "Each crystal clear page loads instantaneously, no matter how fast you scroll," boasts the ad. Compare the video above to Apple's iPad Air ad below to see how something great inspired the best parody in recent memory.
