Now that 5Pointz is finally meeting its maker brick by brick, New York's graffiti mecca in Long Island City, Queens only lives on in photographs and videos. Thanks to ANIMAL New York, you can take one last look at the complex in this aerial video shot from a drone.

The video shows 5Pointz marked by the first signs of its decline—whitewashed by owners Jerry and David Wolkoff. The whitewashing of the building back in Nov. 2013 was met with public outrage because it was done secretly, in the middle of the night. This month, the owners finally started demolishing the structure, a process that is expected to take three to four months. After the ground is cleared and the former graffiti haven gone, the Wolkoffs will begin construction on a $400 million two-tower development.

In the meantime, relive the former glory of the city's cultural hub with sweeping shots of 5Pointz framed by the New York skyline.
