Over the weekend, we visited Jessi Preston and Sara-Isobel Mulder at their tattoo and hair shop, Two Horses, in Montreal. Located in the Atlas Building near Parc Jarry, the shop is an eclectic, ever-changing atmosphere. They recently added space for a nail artist and an area to sell pieces by local clothing brands.Â
What makes Two Horses so special is the way Montreal's creative community has gravitated towards the space so quickly. They've only been open for a year, but even on a Saturday afternoon, they have a group of people who are both there for appointments and there to hang out. They throw parties, and they continually come up with ideas to make the space worth more than just its services.
When asked about their design decisions, including crocheted portraits and lots of horse decor, Jessi responded with, "It's just our style. Our houses look like this, too!" Walking into the space feels homey and comfortable, despite the many various activities taking place.
